So....you're telling me you don't like it?

There is no picture to go along with this post...thank goodness! I made potato salad last night (due to an over abundance of potatoes in the Pratt family), and fed it to the kids for dinner along with a hot dog. The second I set the potato salad down in front of Zac, he immediately scarfs it down. Gabe, on the other hand, was putting up a HUGE fight.

Me: "You have to have at least try just one bite if you want to have a cookie after dinner."
He licked it, and made face.
Gabe: "I tried it mom, and I don't like it."
Me: "You can't just lick it, Gabe, you have to actually EAT it."
He puts the bite in his mouth and is making wierd faces and gagging a little bit.
Me: "Oh Gabe, don't be dramatic, it's not that bad!"

I turn my head and hear a most impressive "SPLASH!" He actually THREW UP the potato salad! It wasn't a fun clean up, but I was trying not to laugh. This is definately a first in my house. My food actually making someone throw up because they hated it so bad! At least I know Zac appreciates my efforts.

I like your potato salad Em!! I think that maybe Gabe has inherited Nates adversion to salad dressing. You were obviously so upset about this that you referred to your family as the Pratt's!? Not that I mind but how does Nate feel about it? All kidding aside, I hope that tomorrow is a better day and save some of that salad for me--the Brazilian version is awefull!!

IT was actually the "Jake and Tiffany Pratt" family that had the potato over-abundance! I really wasn't that upset, I actually thought it was pretty funny!

So... we're huge on making our kids try stuff at dinner... and yes we've had some very close calls with heaving. I'm sure your salad was yummy... Zac sure thought so! So funny.

Hey Noah has done that before (big surprise huh??) -- not actually throwing up the offensive food, but he has come close a few times and started gagging. They psych themselves up so much and are just sure the food is disgusting that it affects their gag reflex! It's been a while since we've had that happened in this house but I do remember it happening with yellow squash.

I reminded Lucy today about Gabe coming in 2 months and she was absolutely giddy with excitement! We'll just have to leave potato salad off the menu when you guys are here :)

I think that some kids can throw up on demand, Kiana's got it down as an art form (maybe some kind of defense mechanism?) We miss you guys!

Funny story Em! I am sorry I wasn't around to get your msg. We were out of town, and have all been sick with the Swine Flu, best we weren't home. I will call when we are all feeling better.

That is SO classic! If it makes you feel any better, I did it to one of my kids once too! HAHA. The joys of motherhood, eh? ;)
